Originally under the name PIKA, SCRIB3D’s brand was evolving as the market leader in handheld 3D printing pens. As the trend in 3D printing pens continued to push towards universal filament, new designs needed to be imagined.
Out of this, came SCRIB3D’s flagship USB-C powered model. Introducing first-of-their-kind features such as the underside filament port and low temperature PCL extrusion, we addressed key filament-cord entanglement issues and brought on-skin drawing to the market for the first time.
As the project lead, I focused on ID aspects such as ergonomics and visual athletics, while also acting as an engineer to design the device for injection molding and taking the device through the necessary testing to prove it’s safety and efficacy.
